April 28, 2009

April 28, the last day of campaigning for the third phase of elections, saw a lot of political activity on the streets of Mumbai. Samajwadi Party candidate Abu Asim Azmi from Mumbai North West seat held a day-long rally, visiting the areas of his constituency, urging people to vote for him.

He stepped out of his car to the sounds of cheers from the party workers, and a band playing "Saare jahan se achha Hindustan humara" helped set the mood for the rally that started at Jogeshwari (a western suburb).

Weaving its way through the traffic, and 25-odd motorcycles carrying Samajwadi Party banners, flags and caps, the convoy of three open vans made its way through Jogeshwari, Malcom Baug, Behrambaug, Andheri and Marol Maroshi.
