HOME | MOVIES Cannes paid tribute to legendary comedian Charlie Chaplain by screening a restored copy of Chaplin's Modern Times and Richard Shickel's documentary, Charlie: The Life And Art Of Charles Chaplin. Neither film was competing in the festival. The documentary chronicles Chaplin's professional life as actor, writer, director, producer and composer, as well as his controversial private life -- love affairs, four marriages, the paternity suit scandal, persecution by the FBI, and his self-imposed exile from the US. Seen here are Chaplin's daughters Annie (left) and Geraldine Chaplin.
