Should India experiment so much before the World Cup?

Your Views

Name: Raj Chowdhury
Message: I think - absolutetly YES! A defeat by the windies is clearly not acceptable - though!! Experiment but still keep the winning habit

Name: Kar
Message: Dravid will be the right man to be wicket keeper. The runs lost bcoz of wicket keeping can be easily made of by extra batsman. Forget Agarkar.

Name: HARIHARAN
Message: I guess Ganguly is doing the right job by experimenting with the new boys. The young turks should be made to feel free to play their natural game, as like, Sehwag's intention to crash the opposition early in the inningings. So, if he fails in one match, trying to play a huge shot, he must not be discouraged. So, what I would say is, we must use this Windies tour and forthcoming Newzealand tour to fix up our team. I would love to see India winning the world cup. ALL THE BEST INDIA

Name: yunus khan
Message: BCCI, if cares a little about the sentiment of Indian cricket fan should let go the game by formula and not by experiments. We have lots of series in between home to lose if experiment is needed on test animal. For sure Sachin is a perfect all rounder.Let Agarkar get seasoned!!!!!!

Name: rahul
Message: Absolutely. Having said that understand that they should not experiment for the sake of it. Getting Agarkar to bat at #3 for some matches is fine, but realistically is he going to play at #3 once Tendlya is back? Also, Harbajan at 5 is a joke. Play Agarkar at 7 after Kaif, so that Kaif has a good batter to bat with. Also, persist with JP for a few matches. One match does not a failure make. If he comes good...and he seems to show the most promise to bowl 7-8 and bat a bit, he'll solve most of the problems. Blood Parthiv Patel this series, else our campaign is going be derailed if Dravid gets injured.

Name: Rakesh
Message: Ya, India should experiment. India is always a good side. But they were not flexible at batting orde or Balling order. Thus opposion easily finds flaws in Indian side & defeat us. But shifting of order (Generally does by south africa) will help us.

Name: Pradeepta Panda
Message: I do agree with the experiments. First it will remove the complacency as they are bound to loose few games. Also this will creat a healthy competitions among the players. But what I would like is apart from Kumble and Harbhajan India must try with some new spinners, who know somebody may click though it's big risk. India must take a second wicketkeeper who can keep during the in consequential games like Holland and Namibia and also the some of the practice games to give Dravid adequate rest. Few loss to Westindies or New zealand should not cause so much hue and cry as it's clear that with a long term objective the team is experimenting so that they can make their combinations right for the world cup.

Name: mayank gandhi
Message: We are now getting the right combination. What should be our goal? Sehwag and Ganguly to open. Agarkar to follow ( this should be tried more, but its a great idea ) Sachin, Laxman, Dravid, Kaif, Yuvraj ( try kaif slightly early ). Dont try for a fast bowling all rounder, as agarkar can be one - one can try bangar, because he has the right temperament. Srinath and Bhajji or Kumble

Name: Jeetu
Message: Agarkar, Allrounder!!! what a joke. He has never won or saved a match with his bat. The guy is losing us matches with his bowling, can't bowl tight spells when required. What are we waiting for to make short his misery and ours. Regarding Dravid as wicketkeeper, Rahul Dravid has no choice. Again like Mr Agarkar, Mr Dravid has never won us matches, whenever he has hit some runs, which are at such a slow pace India then has surely lost. Lets know one thing for sure, in one days if you got it then only you play or perform. Both these guys should be shown the door and all the guys, there is a good list of them given their dueful chance, right now. Everyone who performs has a right to play in the World Cup the premium event in a cricketer's career.

Name: harish
Message: Nope. Its time to consolidate what we have and put teh best in use rather than trying new experiments.

Name: Sylvester Joseph Lopes
Message: Yes Dravid is fit for the wicketkeeper for one day matches only.Agarkar is well allrounder but in the way he is bolling is not fit case for all-rounder.

Name: Pradeep Parameswaran
Message: I applaud the coach and the captain in their innovative approach and their ability to back and support the younger players. But winning is a difficult habit to cultivate and having got close to making winning a pleasant habit, India is in the danger of frittering away the advantage by experimenting recklessly. When Sachin also comes back ito the line-up, it is unlikely that India will need to use any pinch hitters especially given the high rate the all batsmen including Rahul (albeit recently) score. I do however appreciate the idea of playing 5 bowlers, especially given that this is our achilles heel and the trio of Agarkar, Srinath and Harbhajan can contribute some runs if required. I hope we do find bowlers who can support the batsmen in doing a good job on bith innings an I sincerely hope we limit experimenting to areas where we require improvement .. which is mainly in bowling and not in batting.

Name: maruthi
Message: nope, i think an expert wk is necessary for proper functiong of the team, we don;t want about a thousand runs to be taken as byes.

Name: amit desai
Message: experiment is no harm but not by sacrificing the match. utimately win matters

Name: subramanian
Message: It is right time to experiment to settle with right winning combinaion.

Name: Rajkumar
Message: Yeah, it is necessary for India to experiment before the World Cup. The promotion of Agarkar was a good move but it should be a suprise package i.e. the move must suprise people. More than experimentation it should be roatation, India must fix the 15 players they are gonna send to South Africa and keep rotating amongs them. Change their batting order and try new bowling options and all those things. like they can try promoting Kaif up the order, he can fill the number 3 position now and then as he is great form. The experimentation should be such that everyplayer should be comfortable with all batting positions. For example Laxman should be in a position to come at # 7 and still score runs, he should'nt be exposed to that situation in the world cup and Kaif should be able to play at # 3.

Name: ravi pareek
Message: agarkar is player for one day we can't say that he is a allrounder. yes Dravid is a right man to keep wicket coz he have a great talent. they should do some experiments coz who know what can happen by these .

Name: Abhi
Message: The way they are playing against WI it looks like they are far away to make an impact in world cup. So they should start experimenting for 2007 world cup in WI.

Name: pdp
Message: dravid should look after his fitness now. he should be rested in some unnecessary tours which Indian team is playing in. his inclusion definetely makes the teams batting stronger. yes, they should stop such experiments whch they are doing(sending agarkar, bhajji ahead) even if they are sent, they should be asked only to do pinch hitting for 5-6 overs & come back to pavilion. it looks terrible to see kaif bat at no8. yuvi & kaif should be at the crease before 40th over with agarkar & bhajji to follow. and our main problem as always is our bowling. what happened to bhajji? what kind of line is he bowling? our faster bowlers should really show better commitment. kumble's batting has become so pathetic! coach, please do something about it. sachin, when he returns should keep batting at no4.

Name: c,shravya reddy
Message: India should train Patel for batting as well as wicket keeping so as to reduce the burden for Dravid.Ajit Agarkar is capable of playing the roll of an all-rounder,but he should not be sent in position no.3.if he comes in position from 5-7 he is capable of adding runs to the score.we saw him doing this job when England toured India. BEST OF LUCK TO INDIA FOR WORLDCUP 2003.

Name: harsh
Message: i think scahin should open with sehwag and ganguly should come at no.3.dravid should definately keep

Name: subodh sandikar
Message: hello, dravid is playing role of wicket keeper since 3-4 series and performing well. i think he is set now..and if you think that playing dravid as a keeper is risk..but remember without risk there is no reward...and definitely agarkar will be best suited ...he will do justice..jahir khan, nehra, shrinath and agarkar would be perfect combination...1 spinner and 3 fasters would be perfect in south african conditions...and also sehwag, tendulkar, ganguly himself can bowl if needed...there is no question of experiment as already dravid is performing well as a keeper...and also agarkar would be a good option

Name: Sachin
Message: Well,it's right that Rahul is gonna be the wicket-keeper.I don't see anything wrong as he has done very good in the past since our boyz have been touring England.Agarkar too is a good all-rounder as he has that knack of picking wickets at a crucial moment. And one more adnavtage that India will have if we opt Dravid as a keeper is that we can have an xtra batsman in the team which makes the batting line stronger. What all we need to improve is our spin attack.Bhajji and Kumble gotta be consistent.

Name: Debashish Mookherjee
Message: With the exclusion of Zahir Khan, a cruel truth have come to the fore against WI. we have only one wicket taking bowler. Kumble & Harbhajan will be liability in SA. Srinath is not always dependable. He does'nt possess a big heart to break through in difficult situations. After all he is old and lost the hunger to succeed. I wonder how our authorities are thinking to win WC with one or one and half wicket taking bowler. it is sheer stupidity if we dont agree that. Even batsmen of WI calibre has proven that. Experimenting should not be in the wilderness. With Sachin in we can not afford to send Ajit at 3. Yuvraj is too vulnerable to be assured of anything. It is not that he is failing the way he handles quality bowling. Again if anybody thinks Ajit will succeed against top bowlers on SA pitch, I dont know who we are trying to fool. Banger, the position he will come to bat, his staying capability is of no use. Still he will be a better asset than Harbhajan or Kumble. These two will be a sheer disaster in SA. Please dont try to experiment with this spinner luxury. Jaiprakash should be groomed by persisting with though I did not like his bowling in the first outing.Kumble or Harbhajan should be played depending on the pitch and opposition. But definitely not both. Instead Banger or jaiprakash or Sodhi (I dont know what happened to him)should be taken in and commit them to perform (experts useful advice is essential).Eexperiment with applied mind and not for the sake of it.

Name: Raju Prasad
Message: At this point we have no better choice, but stick to current strategy

Name: T.V. Giridhar
Message: Yes, We must keep this two crickets in the forthcoming world cup 2003. Rahul Dravid will be continue the wicket keeping and Ajit Agarkar will come to bat at number Three. Also the according to the situation Mohd. Kaif will come to bat early. For bowling, we have to improve our bowling, there is no one to bowl very well of the critical situation. They must learn perfect. I hope this world cup will be come to India in the next year. Thank u very much.

Name: Roshan iddya
Message: Yes i thinking india is doing the right thing by experimenting with the players because the World Cup is the cup which India are desperate to win and not the series against West Indies. Dravid is a perfect player with the wicketkeeping gloves and the batting gloves. He is a most important player in the side. Because of his keeping there is a flexibility in the side.

Name: yogiraj c gohil
Message: yeah i think they are expermenting too much,i think they should look for one place i.e. of amedium pace allrounder. the batting lineup:-when batting first:-sachin,ganguly,dravid,shewag,yuyraj,kaif,sanjay,ajit,harbhjan or kumble, srinath, zaheer. when chasing:-shewag,ganguly,ajit,tendulkar,dravid,yuvraj,kaif,sanjay,hartbhajan or kumble, srinath, zaheer.

Name: purushothaman
Message: experimenting is good for world cup.they have experimented with agarkar and it seems he is coming good.and in this team everyone is contributing that is good to see.

Name: ramalinga k
Message: india have been winning matches consistently abroad as well as at home pitch also, but are they experimenting too much some times.what my feeling is team unity, teamcaptainship some is not good.what my feeling is present captain is not good means some what different personality. just like azhar is bestcaptain myfeeling. team captainship somewhat ugly and

Name: pandia rajan
Message: We have the worst bowling attack. How can we win the world cup with this bowling attak. Impossible .

Name: Nitin Bhardwaj
Message: We Should give chance to people like yuvraj and kaif to open in the next 14 games before World Cup.ALso RD AND AA are right for thier positions.

Name: A.A.PIMPUTKAR
Message: Experiments must be done but in restricted area and restricted players.Dravid is performing well as w.k. but agarkar should not be used as pinchheater and not as boller in slog overs.

Name: Naresh
Message: They shd find the right balance before the World Cup. So it is better that they experiment in the One Day series which is being held at home.

Name: SANTHOSH KUMAR N .T
Message: INDIANS ARE THE CAPABLE OF LIFTING THE WORLD CUP IT IS THE RIGHT CHOICE TO KEEP DRAVID AS A KEEPER . BUT IT AS TO SHUFFLE THE BATTING ORDER AS THE INDIAN BATTING STRENGTH IS STRONG IT CAN SEND SACHIN , SEHWAG AS OPENER FOLLOWED BY GANGULY , DRAVID, YUVARAJ ,KAIF,AFTER KAIF THERE I GO FOR A ALLROUNDER LIKE RITINDER SINGH SODHI OR ANY CAPABLE FAST WICKET TAKING BOWLER WITH AN BATTING CAPACITY THEN FOLLOWED BY KUMBLE OR HARBHAJAN ZAHEER, SRINATH, NEHRA OR AJIT. i.e. I GO FOR SIX PERFECT BATSMANS AND AN GENUINE ALLRONDER WITH A SPINNER AND THREE FAST BOWLERS.

Name: V.V. SINGH
Message: YES RAHUL IS THE RIGHT MAN FOR THE WICKET KEEPING SLOT. OR WE CAN GIVE FOR THE OTHER ONE . THEN MY TEAM ELEVEN GOES LIKE THIS : SACHIN SEHWAG SAURAV DRAVID YUVARAJ KAIF ( ) WICKET KEEPER KUMBLE OR HARBHAJAN (DEPENDING ON PITCH) ZAHEER SRINATH NEHRA OR AJIT AGARKAR

Name: subha dutta
Message: i think srinath shud not be tried as its just a waste of time n money. kumble is not a good option. ritinder singh sodhi cud be tried. as warm bloods hv better chance than old horses without any sense.

Name: Ravi
Message: NO, experiments should be continued and it is the new players who would always put the opponents in a tricky position.. remember that, all the recent success is due to the fact that there are too many new young players about whom very few opponent teams have any idea about and very few recordings available...... I think India is peaking little too early and giving opposition teams lot of time to do their study on our young guns.. I think some of our young guns should be rested and a new bunch should be tried.. like JP Yadav and others who have been knocking at the doors.. There is definitely sure requirement for quality spinners... ... It should continue.....

Name: Makarand
Message: No, We still have 10 matches before WC. We can experiment for alteast 5 more matches, and can play our last 5 matches with all the assesment done and with the final plan before WC.

Name: manzer
Message: do experiment but only for pace bowler, still we need two good quality pace bowler, dont bank on Nehra, he is just above mediocre, he is not good and fast learner.

Name: susheel_munge
Message: India should not experiment the way they have done in first two ODIs with WI. 1. Agarkar should bat at its regular place. 2. Bhajji also should not have been promoted in the batting order. 3. Selecting Srinath and Kumble is the step backwards as all Cricketers have even became old in watching viedio tapes of their bowling. 4. Yuvaraj should be sent as a Pinch Hitter, but not when Sehwag is back in the Pavellion very early. 5. Even though, the team should be full of two skilled persons, as far as possible, We should not risk with Dravid for WK. Partiv Patel should be included. 6. Ganguly himself, Sachin,Yuvaraj,Kaif,Dravid, even Laxman, Dinesh Mongia, Sanjay Banger, J.P.Yadav can form World Best Team 7. Ashish Nehra can only be in the Test side, as He does not bat and also does not field.
