'War on terrorism' reaches beyond bin Laden: Bush

United States President George W Bush on Monday night said he did not know whether Osama bin Laden is still alive, but pointed out that his anti-terror campaign reaches 'far beyond' the suspected mastermind of September 11 attacks.

"Osama bin Laden may be alive. If he is alive we will capture him. If he is not we got him. We have not heard of him for long. I do not know whether the man is living or dead," Bush said at a press conference.

"The war on terror is much bigger than one person. We are talking about networks and plans that need to be disrupted. These people are cold-blooded killers. They are interested in killing Americans still. Therefore we will continue to pursue them," Bush said.

Rating the 'war on terrorism' as a long struggle, he said, "We are making good progress. We are rounding up people slowly and succeeded in disrupting their networks."
