Arab fighter blows himself up in Kandahar hospital

An Arab fighter belonging to the Al Qaeda, and one of the seven fighters holed up in a hospital ward in the former Taliban stronghold of Kandahar, reportedly blew himself up on Tuesday.

A report quoting a security official, Afizullah, said the fighter blew himself up after trying to escape from the ward, and finding himself surrounded by security guards.

The mutilated body Arab fighter, Mohammed Rasool, was left lying in the Mirwais hospital lawns, the report said.

The report said that many of the Arab fighters were given food and weapons by the Taliban to fend off capture, before the militia fled the city.
