Bush calls Vajpayee, thanks India

US President George W Bush called Indian Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee at 2110 hours on Sunday to thank India "for the strong support and full co-operation," sources in the Prime Minister's Office told rediff.com

Bush emphasised India and the US must continue discussing ways to combat terrorism. Vajpayee said he would send his National Security Adviser Brajesh Mishra to Washington soon to discuss the issue with his American counterparts.

Pakistan and its promised co-operation to the US campaign against Saudi fugitive Osama bin Laden, the primary suspect in last Tuesday's terrorist attacks in the US, was not discussed during Bush's conversation with Vajpayee, PMO sources said.
