Pentagon evacuated amid threat of second strike

The Pentagon is in complete chaos amid a threat of a second plane attack after a passenger plane crashed into the building and exploded on Tuesday morning.

A fighter jet overflew the Pentagon at 10:50 am (0820 IST) shortly after it was learnt that a hijacked plane was heading toward the building.

Earlier, an American Airlines passenger jet flew straight into the Pentagon and crashed into the first floor.

Army Captain Lincoln Liebner said the aircraft struck a helicopter on the helipad, setting fire to a fire truck.
