Blair to visit India for talks: Report

British Prime Minister Tony Blair would visit India on Friday, after a brief trip to Pakistan, according to a report in Star News.

Quoting government sources, the report said Blair is expected to meet Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee on Saturday.

A spokesman for the British High Commission in New Delhi declined either to confirm or deny the report.

Indian officials were not available for comment.

If Blair's visit to New Delhi takes place, it would follow his talks with Foreign and Defence Minister, Jaswant Singh in London on Wednesday, and a telephone conversation with Vajpayee the same day.

Blair is visiting Islamabad on Friday, for what Pakistani officials said would be a 'working visit' and would include talks with the Pakistani President Pervez Musharraf.
