E-Mail this report to a friend

Applications have been invited for 178 seats under the Non-Resident Indian quota in various engineering colleges in Kerala.

According to a statement from the commissioner for entrance examinations on Thursday, admission to these courses will be on the basis of marks obtained in the qualifying examination. The CEE will issue application forms and the prospectus till August 7. The last date for receiving filled-in forms is August 14.

Application forms will be available from the commissioner for entrance examinations, Santhi Nagar, Housing Board Buildings, Trivandrum - 1, on payment of Rs 1,000 in the form of a demand draft drawn from SBI/SBT in favour of the commissioner for entrance examinations, payable at Trivandrum.

For those requesting application forms by post, an additional Rs 71 (within the country) and Rs 150 (abroad) will be charged. Envelopes with completed applications should be superscribed with 'Application for Admission Under NRI Quota.'

Seats are only allotted to those whose father/mother or brother/sister is an NRI.

In their absence, foreign citizens with origins in Kerala who have qualified in the Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT II) or, if the quota still is not met, NRIs who are non-Keralites, are also eligible.
