Wayne Arthurs, who debuted at the Roland Garros in 2000, stretches to return one from Rafter. Arthurs had never won a singles match at the French Open. In their only previous meeting, he had defeated Rafter 6-1 7-6, in the quarter finals of 2001 Delray Beach.
