Bakre in sight of title

International Master Tejas Bakre inched closer to the title after the 12th round in the First Saturday GM tournament in Budapest, Hungary.

The 20-year-old from Ahmedabad defeated IM Schenk Andreas of Germany to take his points tally to nine.

World junior champion Koneru Humpy drew her match against IM Felgaer Ruben (2467) of Argentina after 10 moves. Humpy slipped to the fourth place with seven points with one more round to go.

GM Ferenc Berkes (2541) of Hungary and GM Zlatko Ilincic (2521) of Yugoslavia are in second and third places with 8.5 and 7.5 points respectively.

Humpy will play with blacks against IM William Paschall (2393) of the United States in final round.
