Bakre emerges sole leader

International Master Tejas Bakre emerged sole leader after the 11th round in the First Saturday GM tournament in Budapest, Hungary.

The 20-year-old from Ahmedabad defeated IM Adam Horvath of Hungary to take his points tally to eight.

His solid performance earned him the 12-game GM norm with a round to spare.

World junior champion Koneru Humpy drew her match against the joint leader GM Ferenc Berkes (2541) of Hungary.

With the draw, Humpy now shares the third place with GM Zlatko Ilincic (2521) of Yugoslavia at 6.5 points, while Berkes slipped down to second place with 7.5 points.

Humpy will play with white against IM Ruben Felgaer (2467) of Argentina in the 12th round.
