Even as political big guns, including Chandrababu Naidu, Chiranjeevi and Pavan Kalyan, are visiting different parts of Andhra Pradesh to mobilize support in the favour of their respective political parties, another big star of Telugu films is all set to jump in to the fray, elevating the political din in the state to a new high.

Nandamuri Balakrishna will be launching his much-awaited campaign for the Telugu Desam Party from Rayala Seema region next week. According to a party announcement, Balakrishna will start his tour of the region from Hindupur constituency in Anantapur, which was once represented by his father N T Rama Rao.

Balakrishna, brother-in-law of TDP President N Chandrababu Naidu, will address a series of public meetings and roadside meetings in Anantapur and Kurnool districts over the five days.

He is one of the several film stars the TDP is pitting to take on Chiranjeevi and his star brother Pavan Kalyan.

Chiranjeevi, who has already visited several parts of the state evoking euphoric response from his fans, is presently traversing through Chittoor district, the home of Chandrababu Naidu. Younger brother Pavan Kalyan is undertaking a hectic tour of Karimnagar district of the Telangana region.

Naidu himself is presently touring the north coastal Andhra districts of Srikakulam and Vizianagaram, once deemed as the TDP's fortress, which are presently witnessing a considerable weakening of the party support.

While the elections in the state are apparently a good three months away, the TDP and the Praja Rajyam party are leaving no stone unturned to demonstrate their crowd-pulling powers. But the ruling Congress party is yet to unveil its electoral weapons. Party sources are confident that actor Mahesh Babu will be the leading star of their campaign.
