The Ahmedabad crime branch on Tuesday secured the custody of seven alleged members of the terror group Indian Mujahideen, arrested by the Mumbai police, from a local court, police officials said.
The seven accused are being brought to Ahmadabad after obtaining a transfer warrant from a Mumbai court today, they said.
They are likely to be produced before a local court in Ahmedabad on Wednesday, sources added.
All the seven are accused in blasts cases across the country since 2005 including those at New Delhi, Ahmedabad and Bangalore, crime branch sources said.
Earlier, the city crime branch had secured the custody of five accused in the Delhi blasts, who are presently under police custody till November 11.
The crime branch, investigating the July 26 serial blasts cases, has also secured the custody of Students Islamic Movement of India leader Safdar Nagori and four others and one Mohmmad Ali from Madhya Pradesh.
Three Jaipur blasts accused and one from Belgaum in Karnataka have been brought here for interrogation with regard to the July 26 blasts.
The crime branch has also arrested 17 persons, including the alleged mastermind Abu Basher, for their alleged involvement in the serial blasts that rocked the city, killing 57 people and injuring several others.
Two people have been arrested by the Surat police for planting over two dozen bombs in the city after the serial blasts of July 26.
