JD-S releases manifesto for K'taka poll

Janata Dal-Secular on Monday released its manifesto for the coming Karnataka assembly elections.

The manifesto, which was released by party supremo H D Deve Gowda at the party headquarters at Race Course road in Bangalore, envisions:

  • Farm loan waiver in one year
  • Filling up of vacant posts in government services
  • Free guest house for Below Poverty Line families
  • Minimum wages for garment workers
  • Complete implementation of Sachar committee report
  • Special Task Force for prevention of land encroachment in Bangalore and Mysore
  • Rs 1 lakh insurance scheme for auto and transport vehicle drivers
  • Special layout for BPL families in urban areas
  • Health insurance for the poor
