Former Karnataka Chief Minister and Janata Dal-Secular leader H D Kumaraswamy on Friday launched his campaign for the May 10 Assembly election from a village in Chamundeshwari constituency.

Addressing public meetings at several villages in the constituency, he said due to the Congress-led United Progressive Alliance government's apathy, the issuance of Ration cards to people Below Poverty Line was affected.

"If JD-S comes to power, all such problems would be taken care of," he said.

Kumaraswamy alleged that some parties were taking credit for achievements during his tenure as Chief Minister.

Congress leader Siddaramaiah, who was Deputy Chief Minister twice, had not done any worthwhile work in Chamundeshwari constituency, he said. "He was shedding crocodile tears and trying to woo the voters," Kumaraswamy said.

The former chief minister announced that he would prefer to campaign in Mysore rather than Ramanagara from where he is contesting.
