The Rajasthan Police on Tuesday said nothing incriminating was found against two Pakistani boys who were caught by the Border Security Force after they crossed over into India illegally last week.
Azhar Ansari, 17, and his cousin Zoaib,10, apparently dug the earth below a barbed wire fence on the Indo-Pak border to sneak into Barmer on Saturday.
The two were in police custody and were likely to be sent back to Pakistan after completion of certain formalities, SP (Barmer) Vipin Pandey said.
The two were quizzed by an investigative team comprising BSF, Research and Analysis Wing, CID and Rajasthan Police officials, he said adding nothing incriminating was found against the duo.
During their interrogation, they said they had strayed into India accidentally from Munnabao border, Pandey said.
The two said they were depressed after a tiff with their parents and had left their home after stealing some money, the SP said.
Soon after they entered India, they were apprehened by the BSF who handed them over to Barmer police.
The fact that these boys had dug a trench and entered India illegally were enough to take them into custody, Pandey said.
Some Indian currency notes and a mobile charger were recovered from their possession, he said.
