Britain on Friday strongly condemned the bomb blasts in Hyderabad and Guwahati saying people want peace and 'loathe these cowardly tactics.'

'I utterly condemn this attack on innocent people, and I offer my sympathies to the relatives and friends of those killed and injured,' British Foreign Office Minister Kim Howells, who is currently visiting India, said in a statement.

He said there could be no justification for these cowardly acts.

'It is particularly abhorrent that it appears to be aimed at disrupting people as they gather to worship at an important religious centre, a place they hold dear. There can be no justification for such a cowardly act, nor for the bomb blast that has injured innocent people in Guwahati in Assam -- a town that I visited on Thursday. The people of Hyderabad and Guwahati want peace and loathe these cowardly tactics,' he said.
