I was praying inside the main mosque when this blast occured. The time was about 1 20 PM. The people were engaged in Sunnat Namaz, which is prayed individually, before the main Namaz with the congregation. The blast was like a huge "pop" sounding very much like a transformer blow out. This blast occured near the Wazukhana or the abulition spot which is located in the courtyard of the Mosque. On Fridays there are about 20000 people for the Namaz. I was pushed out along with the melee as people ran helter skelter. The ambulances were on the spot immediately. People were busy removing the wounded,I personally saw about 10 blood drenched people. About half an hour later the people started raising anti Govt slogans and started mild stone pelting at the police. Usually there is strict police bandobust around the Mosque but in the absence of any untoward incident since the Danish cartoon controversy, this has been significantly reduced. I could see the Home Minister arriving while I was leaving the complex

Rumours are spreading fast and taking the form of unconfirmed reports. All companies have issued travel and safety advisories to their employees. Most of the people have left early to avoid traffic congestion.

There have been unconfirmed reports of violence and tension in different parts of the city. None of this is true of course.

The central government has rushed the Rapid Action Force in the city. And there have been no untoward incidents.
