In a swift move, the Telangana Rashtra Samithi on Wednesday night suspended senior leader and former union minister A Narendra from the party for his alleged involvement in the human trafficking case.

Significantly, the suspension of Narendra, who is the TRS MP from Medak, was announced by party official spokesman Madhusudhana Chary in a statement. Chary claimed that the party resorted to the drastic action against Narendra, who is considered to be the second in command in the party after party president K Chandrasekhar Rao, for allegedly possessing the passports of TRS MPs Madhusudhan Reddy and D Ravindra Naik and utilising them for human trafficking.

The TRS spokesman also claimed that the police had confirmed Narendra's alleged role and the party decided to suspend him from the party to protect its image.
