The All Party Hurriyat Conference would meet on Monday at 11 am at its Srinagar headquarters to decide whether or not to participate in the round table discussions to be held between prime minister Dr Manmohan Singh and mainstream political parties in the valley.
Dr Singh would be visiting Kashmir on May 24 and 25 despite a terrorist attack on the youth congress rally on Sunday in which six persons were killed and many others including senior officers of Jammu and Kashmir police were injured.
Speaking to rediff.com from his residence in Srinagar Mirwaiz Umer Farooq, chairman of APHC, was non-commital about the participation in the round table conference.
"The real dialogue is between the government of India and Hurriyat conference. Talking to the mainstream parties does not make any difference. I addressed a public rally of over 50,000 persons on the death anniversary of my father in Srinagar and there too I said the same thing," Mirwaiz said.
But neither Mirwaiz Umer Farooq nor professor Abdul Gani Bhat said anything about the terrorist attack on the youth congress rally in Srinagar or condemned it. "I am not well and I have many things around myself to look after," Professor Bhat said when asked to comment on the terrorist incident.
