Thirty-five Muslim clerics from Jammu and Kashmir are out on a mission to give peace a chance.

The maulvis, who hail from the terrorism-affected Rajouri, Poonch and Doda districts of Jammu and Kashmir, will spread the message of peace in the valley.

On Thursday, May 18, they met President A P J Abdul Kalam at Rashtrapati Bhavan.

The scholars will work with the Indian Army to inform residents in the valley that the so-called holy war being waged by the terrorists is a lie being perpetuated on the Kashmiri people.

As part of their mission, they will seek to increase awareness among the common people, advising them to work for the betterment of Kashmir.
