Senior Bharatiya Janata Party leader Pramod Mahajan's condition has deteriorated since Monday and doctors have enhanced support levels to "quite an extent as of now".
"Right now, the overall condition is quite critical. Lot of things are being taken care of by the doctors. In totality, the picture has deteriorated since Monday," Dr Anupam Verma, director of the P D Hinduja Hospital, told reporters.
To a query whether the blood pressure of the 56-year old leader was under control, he said, "The total scenario has slightly changed."
The Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome has worsened, he said.
Mahajan was rushed to the hospital on April 22 after his brother Pravin pumped three bullets into his chest from point blank range at his residence.
He has been critical since his admission and has been on ventilatory support since then.
Verma said the team of doctors led by D V Daver and Kapadia were monitoring Mahajan "minute to minute".
