J&K: Militant hideout unearthed

Jammu and Kashmir police has unearthed a militant hideout in the forests of Rajouri district and recovered a large amount of arms and ammunition from it, official sources said in Jammu on Wednesday.

Acting on specific information, police carried out a search operation in Pir Peda forest of Chingus area in Rajouri district on Tuesday and busted a militant hideout, they said.

The recoveries from the hideout included 49 AK rounds, 48 pistol rounds, one Chinese hand grenade and some explosive powder, the sources said, adding a natural cave type hideout was also later unearthed by the police.
