Four Naxalites killed in Andhra Pradesh

Four Naxalites, including a woman district leader, were killed in an encounter with police in Tadvai forest area in Warangal district, Andhra Pradesh Friday. 

A police patrol party spotted the four Naxals belonging to Praja Pratighatana Group of Communist Party of India-Marxist Leninist holding a meeting at a hideout in the forest in Katapur village.

When the police party asked them to surrender, they hurled bombs and opened fire. 

In the ensuing exchange of fire, the police killed the four Naxalites, Warangal Superintendent of Police Stephen Ravindra said.

The deceased included District Secretary Yadanna, woman cadre Rajitha, courier Lakshmi Narayana and one other person. The police recovered four weapons from the encounter site.
