President A P J Abdul Kalam will visit the earthquake-hit areas of Uri and Thangdhar areas in Jammu and Kashmir on November 26.

The President was scheduled to visit the state on November 10, but it was cancelled due to former President K R Narayanan's demise.

"The programme of the President stands unchanged," a Rashtrapti Bhavan official told on Thursday morning.

On the morning of November 26, the President will fly in a special aircraft to Srinagar, where Governor Lt Gen (retd) S K Sinha, Chief Minister Gulam Nabi Azad and Chief of Army Forces General J J Singh will receive him.

The state government will brief the President about the relief and rehabilitation work.

He will then return to Srinagar and visit Uri and other areas on November 27 before flying back to Delhi.

Governor Sinha will host a dinner in honour of the President who will stay at the Raj Bhavan.
