Two leopards were on Tuesday night trapped in residential colonies near the Sanjay Gandhi National Park in north Mumbai taking the number of wild cats caught from the area in the last two days to three.

On Monday afternoon, a leopard was trapped in a cage in suburban Borivali after it strayed into a residential colony.
Two Forest Department employees were on Monday injured in Raheja Vihar area of Borivali while trying to tranquilise a leopard, which had taken refuge in an under-construction building. It was later tranquilised and put in a cage.
Sources said authorities are likely to release these leopards in the forests of eastern Maharashtra against the normal practice of sending them back to the park in the wake of the killing of 14 people by wild casts in the area this year.
