National Defence Academy And Naval Academy Examination, 2004

The Union Public Service Commission will hold the National Defence Academy and Naval Academy Examination (I), 2004 on April 4, 2004 for admission to the Army, Navy and Air Force Wings of the NDA for the 113th Course and Naval Academy for the 33rd 10+2 (Executive Branch) course commencing from January 2005.

For details regarding the syllabus and scheme of the examination, centers of examination, guidelines for filling up application form etc aspirants must consult the detailed notice of the examination published in the Employment News/Rozgar Samachar dated October 18, 2003.

Conditions of Eligibility:

Age Limit, Sex and Marital Status: Unmarried male candidates born not earlier than January 2, 1986 and not later than July 1, 1988 only are eligible. 

Educational Qualifications:

For Army Wing of National Defence Academy: Candidates who have passed the 10+2 pattern of School Education or equivalent examination conducted by a State Education Board or a University.

For Air Force and Naval Wings of National Defence Academy and for 10+2 (Executive Branch) Course of Naval Academy: Candidates who have passed the 10+2 pattern of School Education or equivalent examination with Physics and Mathematics, conducted by a State Education Board or a University.

Candidates appearing for the qualifying examination can also apply.

Physical Standards: Candidates must be physically fit according to the physical standards for admission to National Defence Academy and Naval Academy Examination (I), 2004 as given in Appendix V of Commission's Notice for Examination published in Employment News/Rozgar Samachar dated October 18, 2003.

Application Form: Candidates must apply in the Common Application Form devised by the Commission for its examinations which can be purchased from the designated Head Post Offices/Post Offices (specified in Appendix-III of the Notice) throughout the country against cash payment of Rs 20 only. Each such form can be used only once and only for one examination. 

In case of any difficulty in obtaining the application forms from the designated HPOs/POs the candidates should immediately contact the concerned Post Master or UPSC's 'Forms Supply Monitoring Cell' over telephone 011-23389366. Fax: 011-23387310. 

Fee: Rs 50 through Central Recruitment Fee Stamp only. SC/ST candidates are exempted from payment of Fees. (OBC candidates are required to pay full fees).

Last date for receipt of applications: All applications must reach the Secretary, Union Public Service Commission, Dholpur House, Shahjahan Road, New Delhi 110069 either by hand or by Post/Speed Post or by Courier, on or before November 17, 2003. 

However, in respect of candidates residing abroad or in certain remote localities specified in the Notice the last date for receipt of applications by Post/Speed Post only (not by hand or by courier) is November 26, 2003.

Facilitation counter and web site for guidance of candidates: In case of any guidance/information/clarification regarding their applications, candidates can contact UPSC's Facilitation Counter near 'C' Gate of its campus in person or over telephone 011-23385271/23381125/23098543 on working days between 1000 hours to 1700 hours.

The Commission also has a web site www.upsc.gov.in over which the candidates can obtain details of the examination as well as information about registration of their applications, venue of the examination and result etc.
