The three-day old strike called by single-screen cinema theatres in Maharashtra to press for their demands was called off on Monday.
Announcing this after a meeting with Deputy Chief Minister Chhagan Bhujbal, producer Kiran Shantaram said the strike was called off after the government agreed to scale down entertainment tax by ten per cent.
Bhujbal said the cinema owners' demands of will be taken up for consideration.
Over 1,000 single-screen theatres in the state had downed their shutters from October 17 to press for their demands, including scaling down of entertainment tax and change in the existing exit policy.
