Apparently lacking support of enough MLAs to oust Kerala Chief Minister A K Antony, senior Congress leader K Karunakaran on Friday deferred his scheduled meeting with Governor Sikander Bakht.

Karunakaran had sought an appointment with the governor at 11.30 am reportedly to submit a list of MLAs who support Antony's removalHe later postponed the meeting citing 'ill-health', one of his supporters V Balaram said.

Karunakaran was reportedly forced to rethink on meeting the governor because of the reluctance of two United Democratic Front allies, the Kerala Congress factions headed by R Balakrishna Pillai and T M Jacob, to go with the veteran leader's action at this juncture when assembly elections are due in four states.

Balaram refuted reports that the faction had suggested to the party high command 'rotation of the Chief Minister's post' between Antony and Karunakaran as a solution to problems.
