The Indian Army on Friday killed three intruders in Poonch area of Jammu in the first infiltration bid after India and Pakistan announced a ceasefire.

A defence spokesman in Jammu said the infiltration bid took place in Jhallas sector during the wee hours of this morning.

When challenged, he said, the militants opened fire. In the exchange, militants were gunned down.

Meanwhile, four persons, including two policemen, were injured in an explosion inside a house at Kandi Karnah in north Kashmir's Kupwara district.

The police said the bomb exploded inside the house of a policeman identified as Raja Bilal.

Those injured in the explosion included Bilal, his wife and two-year-old son and another policeman identified as Zahoor Ahmad.

They are being treated in a local hospital.
