'What I make is respected by the whole nation'

We are the only licensed makers of the Indian flag in the country. I am very proud I make something that is respected by the whole nation.

I work as a cutting master at Khadi Dyers & Printers in Mumbai. We produce 100 flags every day. I try to work hard and increase it to 125 to 150 pieces. We are very careful while making flags. We avoid stamping on the cloth and see that it does not get stained.

In my previous job I used to make trousers. Now the Karnataka Khadi Gramodyog Samyukta Sangh helps us with loans and provides employment to around 5,000 poor people.

They weave the cloth used for the flags on charkhas and earn around Rs 75 per day. My slogan is: Tum Khush to duniya khush [If you are happy, the world is happy].

I want to be self-employed and start a unit where I can give employment to 10 to 20 people.

One major concern for India is the unfriendly relationship with Pakistan. Both countries should sit and resolve their issues. This would help India prosper. Desh tarakki karenga to humsab tarakki karenge [If the nation prospers, so will we].

I don't differentiate between people according to religion. I even visit dargahs. People should forget religion and stay united.
