'Today, the need of the hour is unity'

I teach the Quran to children at the Fatehpuri Mosque, close to the Jama Masjid and Red Fort in old Delhi.

I want India to be a developed nation. A country where there is no poverty, where no one goes to bed without food and all have proper shelter. A place where there is no violence of any kind -- be it for religion or anything else.

I am a simple man, happy with life. I want this to continue and Allah to always take care of me.

Corruption is the greatest hurdle in this country. If corruption is removed, a lot of things will automatically change.

I think we should do all to retain India's culture. We must stop historical monuments from being plundered. It is a pity that even the Taj Mahal has not been spared.

Today, the need of the hour is unity. People should understand there is a campaign to destroy India. We should all work together to defeat this evil.

I like the people of India. There is so much of love. I don't think people live like this anywhere else in the world. We celebrate our festivals together, share our joys and sorrows. In other places, people don't have so much time for others. But in India, we do care for others despite all the problems.

As told to Ehtasham Khan
