'If we have progressed, why am I
pulling a rickshaw?'

I feel technology has made great strides and maybe one day my rickshaw too will be pulled by a computer. We are talking about going to space, but what is the point? Civilisation is not only about making scientific discoveries, but also learning to live peacefully.

We haven't yet become civilised or how else can a Gujarat riot happen in which so many people were killed?

We say politicians are corrupt, but are all citizens honest? We have made progress, but why am I pulling a rickshaw and don't have a job? I think youngsters shouldn't wait for jobs to come their way and think of starting their own business. Money is a problem though. The government provides development funds, but politicians polish them off.

If corruption could be eradicated, many problems would go. Science and technological development may be helping people, but they don't have a direct influence on a poor man's life like myself.
