'In IIT I decided I would not leave my country'

In my first year at IIT Madras itself I had decided that I would not leave my country. I and my friend Sriram started dreaming about our company. We knew there was nothing we could not achieve here.

We started Tachyon Technologies with just Rs 400,000 in 2000. Today we are worth Rs 1 crore. Our dream is to make it a dream company for the best innovators in the world.

I must admit entrepreneurship is not much supported here. Even some of our professors dissuaded us from starting a firm immediately after B Tech.

We have the best resources and the best of talent, but what I don't like about India is its education system. Though we have done a fairly good job in fundamental education, it doesn't help in building an overall personality.

My dream is to have such a model education centre for the next generation.
