Security agencies had intercepted a conversation between one Abu Hadid operating in Srinagar and a control station of the LeT in Pakistan, which proved that the terrorist organisation was behind the killing, the sources said.
The sources said Hadid had carried out the murder along with two other Pakistani terrorists belonging to the LeT.
The LeT operational commander in Kashmir, Abu Samas, had advised Hadid not to claim responsibility for the attack, the sources said.
The coded message from across the border expressed happiness over the killing and asked Samas to be watchful of the situation, they added.
