India admits losing reconnaissance plane

India on Saturday said it has lost an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) near Lahore but maintained that use of such drones in the current state of deployment of the armed forces was a 'routine feature'.

"One UAV lost contact around 2300 hours IST on June 7 and is believed to have fallen down within 20 km south-south west of Lahore," the defence ministry said in a statement.
