Magisterial probe ordered into killing of govt employee in J&K

The Jammu and Kashmir government on Wednesday ordered a magisterial probe into the alleged killing of Abdul Ahad Bhat, an employee of the animal husbandry department, by security forces inside his house in Baramulla town.

Baramulla Deputy Commissioner Naveen Choudhary ordered the probe following a massive demonstration on Wednesday by the residents of Khanpora and adjoining villages in Baramulla, 55 km from Srinagar.

Police were also investigating into the incident, he said.

He said though there was tension in the town throughout the day, the situation was well under control.
