Your Views:I think the Indian government and forces here are terribly weak. They together cannot nab one man when they know where he is located. How much more of a pussy can they be. This is disgraceful. In case Bush were to get kidnapped by him then I'm sure the b******* would have been caught by now. We have an army, air force. What more does one want? Im sure that Osama would have got hold of Veerappan. This just shows that incase there is a war betweeen India and Pakistan then all of us know who will win. We cannot fight one man. A nation would be impossible to deal with. Jai Hind :-(

Your Views:Veerappan is not at all a criminal when we compare him with our corrupt leaders. However, I do not condone kidnapping some celebrity or poaching, but what is he compared to large scale looters like Jaya /Bangarappa etc. When the "matinee idol" was kidnapped two years back there was a big show by his fans who went on a rampage by damaging property and disrupting normal life in Bangalore. Why dont we ask these warriors go and nab the brigand instead of hurling stones on buses and attaking Tamils in Bangalore.

Your Views:Karnataka Government and tamilnadu govenment looks like can never get along first its language then river and water and then veerappan. It does not rain but pour situation is always there. the best option to any of the three government at this time is negotiate (which they can follow) and do a wait and watch. another option which they are literally afraid to take up is make a army man chain like school children do at "anti tobbacco day and all world days" outside the "territory of veerappan"(!!!) and squeeze him in corner with shoot to kill. Put three cheetas (helicopters) for supply and use lot of tear gas granades inside and around area The only way to miss him would be to mis-judge his territory which Indian army cannot do it but Indian politicians can.

Your Views:We should not yield anymore. We should set an example that extortions and ransom seekers are discouraged. Be strong and resailent. Send in a the elite commandos and get the worm nailed. We might end up loosing some people, but that is good if it serves a noble cause. All the swines in the jails for whom he is seeking release must be shot dead and the bodies handed over to the idiot. Give way to peace. Don't kindle a tamil, kannadiga fight unnecessarily. I agree with Ms.Jayalalitha that we should not yield anymore.

Your Views:This is not a case of a brigand kidnapping a politician. This is a case of some commiting a crime and not only getting away with it but also getting a reward! As long as we do not have a firm policy of not yielding to bandits and criminals, the kidnap and laugh game will continue. We should have made a legislation in this regard long long ago. When Mufti Mohammed Sayeed's daughter was kidnapped, we blinked, when Rajakumar was kidnapped, we blinked only to think it was for one last time. When Taliban flew our planes from right under our nose we again blinked. Criminals now know that government can only blink and that public has a short memory. So, while public everytime loses, they continue gaining. And politicians, who are to frame the legislation, continue blinking. Only God knows, why they do not frame laws. May be a cut of the ransom reaches them making their eyelids weak and causing timely blinking. Its high time we decide for once and for all that no kidnapping would be succumbed to. It might give us some trouble in the short term. But, once criminals know that it doesn't work, they would forever lose this weapon! A small pain in the short term giving solace forever!

Your Views:Karnataka Govt has not learnt anything by previous mistakes. Our No 1 CM of India (now he is moved to No 10 position - recent survey) assured people of Karnataka that his Govt would nab Veerappan after Dr. Rajkumar's abduction. Lots of water has flown down in Cauvery after this statement made ever since and lots of questions arise on the action of these Govt - such as why Kempayya has been called back? Why STF has been reduced and less equipped? Looks like couple of the ruling party members and one or Two ministers of Karnataka have long lasting relationship with Veerappan and safeguarding the interest of Veerappan.

Though it is said that politicians are supporting it is now known which politician and political party is supporting Veerappan. A party that felled trees is supporting a person who killed thousands of elephants and several humans. What a combination! Surely they are made for each other. Your Views:This is a shame that Indian administration could not catch a so-called sandalwood thief for last two decades. This is unbelievable that the country which has nuclear power and very high class technology, can't get hold of a thief whatever powerful he may be. I'm sure, local administration is involved with Veerappan along with local people and Govt. has not taken any sufficient measure to catch him. The kind of operation needed to catch him has never been applied by the Govt. This is high time to take commando action along with the joint action by both Karanataka and Tamilnadu police keeping in mind that the officers taking part in that operation must not be local to avoid the chances of having linkman into the police. And of course, for this if we need to sacrifice Nagappa, then do it, for saving one's life it's not good idea to endanger the lives hundreds of other people in future. In fact, this action should have been done long before when raj Kumar was kidnapped when Govt. gave Veerappan a huge ransom to release him instead of taking any action and there by making him powerful. Govt has to think that every life is equally valuable, there is no difference on VIP or common people.

He has all the elements required for his business, the right contacts, equipment, weapons, support network, and a highly experienced mind which always gets the timing right. Its not a lack of political will, but plain incompetency of the STF which is why Veeru is thriving. The STF seems to be combing the jungles randomly and finding only elephant shit. Layoff the STF, hire a small team of smart guys, give them the latest equipment (night vision, choppers, balloons, motion trackers) and let them report directly to the chief ministers. Your Views:I was surprised to see the views. How many of these are serious thoughts? Why blame politicians when we (Junta paricipating) here cannot even come up with a feasible idea on paper. Again it is so sad that Dr. Rajkumar is blamed for anti-tamil riots. I am not a big fan of him. But to accuse him is a gross in-sensibility. How can we blame politicians when we fight amongst ourselves blaming each with other without any facts? Can the person who says that 'Karnataka is not releasing water even though there is enough' at least quote some numbers to support the charges? Rather than blaming the politicians we should see what 'we' as citizens do and act when it comes to our 'selfish' matters. In the olden days they used to say "Yatha Raja Thatha Praja" (As the king, so the subjects) but we have Praja Rajya (democracy) today. So the adage should change to "Yatha Praja, thatha Raja". As long as we are selfish and keep our self before the 'values', we have no right to blame politicians and it is a natural justice that we should suffer at the hands of creatures like veerappans and mind you even if this veerappan is killed, there will be many more like him until we change as per Kalam's Vision

To the best of my knowledge i am sure we are not going to get results in terms of capturing him, but on the otherside he will meet his demands (courtesy: to all the political lobby he has generated over these years) once his demands are met.. he will lead a happy life again in the forest or in a farm house of some big shot... for two years....Once he is tired of that kind of life and wants excitement & fame, he will abduct someone else.... and again the same old thing repeat, with rediff and other sites asking for public view !!!!!! Does this public view reaches anyone ???????? We are just fooling our own country & time... its better we wake up and do some constructive work for the growth of our country, rather than getting involved in this race !!!!! If possible we can help the country by giving him leads of corrupt politicians & beaurocrats whom he can make a hostage for life long !!!!!

Your Views:Dear friends, gentlemen and fellow Indians, don't get trapped by the gimmicks played by our politicians. Its too obvious that veerappan is strongly supported by amma and Co. Otherwise why the hell on earth can some f***er like veerappan be not caught for decades. Nothing in this country can change until some dictator takes over the government. How about inviting Bin Laden to take over the governance?

Your Views:WEll, I can say that this is all well made plan of jaya & veerappan. why would he kidnapp naggapa instead of jaya, it is the politicians who have supported the veerappan from under the table theory. 200 army soldiers can hunt down a coward donkey(veerappan hiding under a tiger skin(politicians). as every as has seen how indian army has stop the leaking bloods of kashmir, army gentlemens should be on shame, that they cant even, hunt a chandan chor veerappan.... now naggapa wont b killed, bcoz naggapa is the only horse he is riding on, but stil cant say devil's mind change within seconds.....but if 1 man sacrifices then rest all are saved, rather then loosing many lives for just 1 naggapa..... someone has to sacrifice.... now choice is of greedy politician wether they fill up there pockets or they fill up the gaps made by veerappan........ thats all i have to say..... rather i shud say politicians shud b send in jungle to hunt, not just sit in a/c room and discuss in front of media for the publicity.......so that they get votes...

Your Views:My view on this is that both Karnataka and Tamil Nadu should try and catch Veerappan along with the Centre's help, without getting Nagappa killed. But if there is no way out - then there is no other option but to sacrifice Nagappa. Its high time that we firm up on something, otherwise Veerappan and the likes will continue to prosper and create havoc in future. The amount of money being spent on this operations, the kind of time and talent wasted cannot be tolerated further and the same can be put to better use. I also wish to state that whoever sympathises with Veerappan needs to change for the good of our nation. We need the likes of Mahatma Gandhi, Mother Teresa,J R D Tata and so on and not the expensive ones like Veerappan. Let the states unite, leaving cauvery waters aside for sometime, and work towards putting an end to the Veerappan Saga, rather a madness called Veerappan.

What did she do when she was in power. What did this JJ did for the last one year to catch veerappan. She is diverting people from her poor governance death of wavers, poverty and draught. First veerappan should kidnab this lady and let him save Tamil nadu and India. hope this day come true.

None The only feasible reason is that there are skeletons in their cupboards which will tumble out when the elusive Veerappan is captured These kidnappings are nothing but a retirement fund for the V gang Hope the Central govt. takes direct control of the operations and does not let considerations of future coalition partners stop them from seeing that justice is done to all those killed by these brigands

Your Views:I cannot believe this but some people are hailing Veerappan as a hero. A Robinhood in the making. Boy, this surely is the pits. Whats so heroic about taking innocent people hostage at gun point and threatening to kill them by hiding deep in some god forsaken forest? As i see it, Veerappan is a coward of the worst kind. He does not have an iota of courage in him. Man, it takes courage and character to help people. People like Gandhi and Mother Theresa had it. It is such people who are the real heroes and heroines. Not some "good for nothing", "worse then shit" people like veera... whatever. I dont even want to utter the name of such a FILTHY DOG. On second thoughts, even a filthy dog has courage !!! not that son-of-a-bitch. Whew! that took some saying. Anyway the point i am trying to make is, there are some people mostly Tamil but others also who think that this nasty bugger is a hero. Man, are the people of TN short of heroes ??? I can't believe this. This is so pathetic!!! Some people also project this nasty bugger as standing up for the Tamil cause. Whatever is that !!! It seems to me that this dog only takes hostage kanndigas and runs away to TN. Why? COWARDICE

As obviously known since only criminals who get in to politics in india I would say let them give what veerappan wants so that he can become one day a miltitant. We did the same with Kashmiri militants by surrendering to them for an airplane and bunch of cowards in that flight. What you think the indian government , TN and Karnataka is going to catch him? they will send that editor of Nakeeran to mediate and release Nagappa. Nagappa is more precious b/c he will fetch millions to our politicians than the natural resources and the common man.hail jayalalitha, hail nagappa, hail indian government.

Your Views:Where there is a will there is a way. Why Veerappan has not been caught till date just because a number of politicians have been hand in glove with him and whatever amount is shown as expenditure on nabbing him by the governments, a major portion of that goes to the pockets of so many. Once he is caught or killed, from where they will generate money. No one else is to be blamed for all this mess. We are the ones who elect these thieves. Veerappan might prove to be a better politician than the present lot because whatever he has done, everyone knows it and whatever crimes some of the existing politicians would have committed against the country or society, even in case we know - won't be able to do anything. Supreme Court wanted that all the candidates while filing their nomination forms should declare their qualification, criminal records, assets etc. but all the political parties came together and the NDA government has already obliged the political community by virtually forcing the President to sign the ordinance to come out of this genuine suggestion of Supreme Court. There is no will on the part of Politicians to cleanse the system and that's why all this mess.

The central government should take affirmative action to bring him to justice. But the real question is, Does these politicians really want to bring him out. Veerapan is no different from the militants in kashmir. The only difference being that the kashmir militants infiltrate into india and terrorise whereas veerapan is already in and is terrorising from within. If the army is trained to fight militants in kashmir under those hard below freezing conditions, it should be a piece of cake for them to track veerapan and shoot him down.

If the Govt. had spent that money on developing the life of the people in that area, there would be no Veerappans in the first place. Your Views:There are too many people involved in this issue. And no one is ready to reveal all the secreats. I attribute some of the following as failiure to nab veerappan.(There are 100 more :-)) 1.STF was never allowed to work freely. 2.These politicians and some government officials are mostly worried about themselves rather than nabbing veerappan. 3.I suspect Some involvment of these negotiators in all these. 4.I guess Rajkumr is not allowed to speak openly about his experiences. He is only telling sensored version. 5.Involvement of Some Tamil and Karnataka politicians in all these. So they don't want truth to be reveled. And Many more........... I am sick and tired about hearing these kidnapping and govermnet spending multi-million rupees to nab this stupid Ass. When we are facing drought and lack of basic facilities to millions of people. Government is totally wasting its time and resources... I have much more to say.

Your Views:First thing karnataka should try at any cost to secure the release of the ex-minister. In the event of an eventual danger to the life of the ex-minister Tamil Nadu should release the prisons veerappan asked. and moreover at the time of negotiations, TN and Karnataka STF teams should improve and modernize the surveillance capability and try to find out where possibly he could hid the minister or he himself is hiding (the modernization is not enough, considering the difficult terrain) actor rajkumar could give information on where he was kept and how they operated, that would give them great input as to the behaviour of the forest brigand. If they could home in on the location of the bandit, they should ambush him by using STF and commando units (fully equipped.) I never heard anything about modernization of the force, I dont know whether they are using Night Vision, Infra-red, Motion Detectors, eaves-dropping on suspected veerappan colluders, etc.. they must start these if they haven't already. I am not definitely saying this will nab veerappan, , because the terrain is very large and complex, but this greatly increases the chance.

These corrupt and rogue politicians do not want to nab veerappan due to reasons best known to them. Our Karnataka politicians are cowards. This time around like last time we should not pay money get Nagappa releaased. Nagappa shoiuld be sacrificed, with that karnataka politicians may learn a lesson and determine to nab him, come what may. If the journalists can reach him, why not our police or even the army?

Now listen to the real facts firstly Veerappan takes only 5% or even less when he does all his theft, including ransom. if karnataka gov. or TN gov. does try to does send lot of people or bomb the place it will over kill the problem. FOR god sake do not make is tamil kannada issue, they both leave peacefully in bangalore or chennnai. So what ever gov. is doing is the best solution.

Your Views:This has been a circus. The more one sees any report on the Veerappan issue, the more one feels that Veerappan has the blessings of the people in power to do what he has been doing all along. I read reports like attempts to get him arrested have cost the Govt. Rs. 150 crores. What nonsense is this. This amount can be spent usefully on the poor people of India. I read a write-up lately that asked how could India expect Musharraf to stop militancy in Kashmir when the Indian Govt. is not able to apprehend one of its own citizens hiding in India. The Indian politicians have treated their people as if they were a stupid lot. Well, to have tolerated this nonsense for so long, the Indian people must be stupid. The longer this murderer is left roaming the forest, the more the poor in India would view him as the modern day Robinhood. The many murders he has committed is being overshadowed by the "so-called" good that he is doing to the poor and he is being worshipped by the poor in the same light as Mother Teresa and Mahatma Gandhi. Jayalalitha, Karunanidhi and the CMs of Karnataka & Kerala are to blame. Also the Central Govt. for watching the circus from Delhi.

Your Views:Karnataka State has failed to nab him even after 15 years of Veerapan's illegal activities. So it is better the State should surrender the matter to Central Government to handle. This it could have done earlier also, but why it is dragging it's feet is to be found out. One thing is certain that his activities of stealing chandan by pulling down big trees and elephant tusks by killing elephants is a very big task which needs a big industrial activity involving machineries, trucks to load and unload, cut to marketable pieces and then also sell the same in open market needs roads leading to cities and towns. How he is managing the same? All this will come to the knowledge of the Central Government and hence State Government is not handing over the matter to Central Government. There seems to be a deep mistery and an able strong Governement in State or in Centre only can handle the same. At both places the picture is not that good and the politicians controlling the government are sluggish. But there can be a Seshan like administrator who can set it right. It is better that State Government handover the matter to the India's Super Cop with all powers to handle the case.
