Your Views:Is veerapan really big menace to the common man? Or are the Matinee Idol Rajkumar, who organizes and incites sectarian violence against Tamils in Karnataka, and Jaya, the billioniare who receives only a Rs.1000/month salary, really worse than Veerapan? A question to ponder??

Your Views:I am sad to see why some of the news papers and other articles are tryin to make a "coward rat" a hero...bandit "King" More so that fact that a country like India which has made considerable advances in fields like space and nuclear sciences, is unable to catch a petty thief for so many years is depressing.

Your Views:Nothing is going to happen the same old story will be repeated....politicians on the both sides are playing a game...where everyone wins but not the forest officers who hve lost their lives. The better option is to make veerapan CM of Karnataka-Tamil Nadu border

Your Views:Either Tamilnadu or Karnataka does not have any guts to deal with this guy and they dont want to for political reason. Because so many current/former politicians are involved in destroying the forest and making money that, bringing veerappan to justice will destory there name and they will be behind prison. If any govt want to deal with this kind of person, they don't need huge police or military force. They just need *few* brave officers, who can enter the forest in civilian dress and take him out, and make justice in forest not courts. But this should be top secret. Do you think this will happen? Never Ever.

Your Views:I am really unable to undestand why all this fuss about. Veerappan is a mere meek mortal. As per natures rule, every animal who was born, is bound to die. So why not let destiny take it's own course ? Why govt. is trying to play God's role by trying (or showing) to arrest or kill Veerappan? 100 crore people of this great country (including Veerappan) have right to demand explanation. Pay him the ransom money. These incidences will occur often & will soon become a trend. Economy will get shot in arm as money will keep rolling. Just can not resist to mention another spin off, inspired from the success of Veerapan more & more young men will join the trend & will solve unemployment problem.

Let him keep Mr. Nagappa..he wont kill him, because Veerapan is looking forward for a career in politics so he wont tarnish his image by killing Mr. Nagappa. But this time lets not surrender to his demands but exert such a pressure on him through army that he runs for his life.

The tired and exhausted public sees Veerappan as an instrument to get back at the Jayalalitha's and Laloo's of India. Unless our corrupted system changes and the social and religious harmony obtained, people like Veerappan will become a daily fact of our lives.

Your Views:the only reason he is hale hearty and hunting is that theres too much politics between the 2 states... i think he should be allowed to kill his hostage as there are more politicians than required in our nation anyway....all they do is cause damage not progress so veerapan will realise that kidnapping politicians is not worth it ... and politicians will realise their worth in society

Your Views:Its all just politics !!! Veerappan has links with some influential politicians in Tamilnadu and Karnataka. These politicians were benifitted a lot when he was smuggling sandal woods. So if Veerappan is caught the politicians good deeds will come to light. All these STF operations are just an eyewash.they may not be able to nab hime unless given a free hand.

He and his whole gang should be given the whole requirements and be supported by the indian army so that he can be sent to pakistan territory and carry out the same sort of attacks on the army of pakistan in pok and other parts so that pakistan can also taste the blood of their own which they have been doing on the indian soil. Also he should be given the full authority about whom he should slay and whom to not according to his will in pakistan.

Your Views:It is surprising that the STF or the state police has been unable to catch hold of a single criminal since so long. It is a big black spot on the white cloth. It also shows what the Indian armed forces lack. The Karnataka & TN governments should co-ordinate in this field and catch hold of the forest brigand once and for all. All the people who are supprting him should also be jailed. The Karnataka & TN govt. should also use the latest surveillence equipment to hunt down Veerappan. But in no way should the government bow down before his demands. We did that once in the IC-814 hijack and have faced the consequences.

Your Views:Catching or hanging veerappan is not an issue to my views. There is more danger associated with our Karnataka and Tamil Nadu politicians. Their continuing politics on cauvery waters and verappan matter may end up in dangerous enimity between Tamil and Kannada Indians. For which we cannot blame PAK and we may end up in doing some thing like what we r doing with Manipur and Nagaland. Veerappan is dust when u compare this. One thing can save us from this danger, I mean God!! Oh! my dear fellow Indians, we always lack self-discipline in all forms of life from Politics to professionalism. God only can save us. I swear not the in-house politicians of both the states be it ruling or opposing parties. This isvery evident from the fact that they did mockery out of acting as if oblivious of veerapans hideouts. Its only people like us r posting our views of catching him.Believe some one from a remote country or state should be willing to do this job and its feasible only if veerapan himself shifts to some jungles over that place. tell me frankly how our politicians wil allow him to leave our maathrubhoomi. there have got enough and would not compromise to sell the hen that lays golden eggs for few pennies.

Your Views:A political game indeed. As somebody had mentioned Veerappan is just going to die an old man in the forest. No amount of reinforcement is going to help in nabbing him - the reason is I am sure that he is having a political backup. Are we so naive to believe that it is next to impossible to catch a crook ? I think the goverment can stop spending money on nabbing him which they anyway don't want to happen. Instead they can spend the money for something more useful - maybe they can buy more bungalows for themselves because that is what useful means to them - spend money on themselves. God save this country - from it's own people and from it's neighbours too!

Your Views: It seems that Veerappanism is the way our country should be governed. leave aside mussharraf, can pan kidnap other people in country, belonging to communal force. since the country's judicial system takes very long, should we ask veerappan to take up some burning issues like the Bhopal Gas Case, it creators and the company's agents. what about the people like bangaroo who took 1lac in front of camara, jaya jaitley, and others who are still remaining in political life. or the people of Indian Army, who can be bribed for a night with call girl.(ref. tehelka) Why Musharraf, let him leave peacefully in his country, Veerappan can be given (paid for) other pressing problems like kidnaping the owners of Gutkha Industries which is killing the youth of the country and have earned in crores, owners of shetty ladies bars who are allowing prostitution on their premices. owners of the discotheques in Bombay who are running the afternoon shows to spoil the career and life of college going youths. and moreover, the politicians who allow this with closed eyes, conveniently saying, when anything happens "hum to mutne gaya tha, ham ko nahi maloom".

Your Views:As said in one of the comments, Mr. Ramados should be sent to negotiate with Veerappan. Lets c his capabilities. "Koraikkira naai kadikkuma illiya nnu pathuruvoom" - lets c whether the barking dog bites or not. (P.S - He's the leader of the PARTY that cut thousands of trees along TN-HIGHWAYS block traffic and to do dharnas). The TN and Karnataka govt are not committed in nabbing Veerappan. They have been claiming that they are trying to catch Veerappan for the past 10 yrs. Now Mr. Advani has promised to provide full support of the Govt including the army. So I think its time for the army to finish the job that the STF has not been able to do. So cum on TN and Karnataka. Give way to the Indian armed forces to start "Operation Khatham Khatham" :)). Your Views:In the whole veerappan saga, only one politician deserves credit - Jayalalitha. She's the only male in the govts of karnataka/TN. Karunanidhi, krishna & others should all wear bangles & sit at home. No prisoners should be released. Instead they should be executed. karunanidhi should be put behind bars as it is because of people like him that tamils outside our state are called kidnappers. I can't understand how the central govt can simply watch karunanidhi help veerappan(who killed so many indians). Even he should be arrested under POTA. Krishna may not owe an explanation to Jaya for transferring tough cop Kempiah but he definitely owes an explanation to the people of karnataka)

Your Views:The Indian people need to stop chickening out everytime. If we remain like this, where we succumb to every terrorist attempt, we are sure to have much more terrorism in our soil. Its not the terrorists to blame. Its our weakness to fight issues like these that causes vulnerability to our society. If we continue to act like this our country will deteriorate. We need to stand up and fight, and not be cowards. If we loose Nagappa today so be it. If our police is intelligent enough we can avoid that too. If we fight today, tomorrow Veerapan wont threaten us again by capturing ministers, filmstars, or other public figures. People like these thrive, 'cos we are weak as a society. We gave up when Raj Kumar was kidnapped, we gave up when IC 814 was taken to Kandahar. How many more times do we need to give up. To get some thing we will need to loose something too. Giving up will never solve our problem. It will only worsen it

Your Views:it is better to forgive him since a person like rajkumar who was with him says that it is difficult catch veerappan and save the public money which is spent lavishly without any result. when so many corrupt politicians are ministers in different departments make an agreement with him and appoint him as the forest officer and learn his intellegence with regard to other terrorists'activities and experience about forest. he is called as robinhood by public why can not he be given a chance like poolandevi.imagine the money spent on him. our money not that of police or politicians who made him to grow for 45 years. my view may sound different but it is the view of millions of indians who are eager to express but not getting a chance. can any politician say he is not corrupt. we can gain lot of knowledge about animals, forests etc., reply on my view please. with his intellegence veerappan can easily kidnap musharraf because he was never a failure in whatever he did.

Your Views:Dear Governments of the both the States, Be Cool!. We have too many IAS officers and experienced administration officials and still Veerappan is calling the shots every time. The problem lies in that we are not proactive and are sunk in always crisis management. The proverb 'Prevention is better than cure' is applicable to all categories of life not in health sector alone. Think for all possible steps to nab the jungle king and bring him to law. Unless he has a tremendous support of 'ill-behaved and rotten criminals' in public life, I wouldn't subject Veerappan to any forum alone. Bring those culprits as well. But for God's sake do not budge for the demands.Where are the intelligence agencies of our nation. I am sure they have the info but their hands are tied due to administrative hastles. We are making history in letting USA know all info about the indomitable Bin laden and Al Queda but alas, what is happening within your home land. Be careful, Intelligence Agencies, Bin Laden may approach Veerappan for any special and expert advise.

Your Views:How can we tackle so called J & K (disputed teritory)militants/terrorists when we can't even tackle this brigand within our premises? Solution: We should stop politicising everything and focus on tackling such menace, including sanitising government officials.Give full power to law enforcing officials, provide them with good arms support and strong communication network. How can we expect a cop to fight when he/she has a small pistol and the other side side AK-47s and other sophisticated weapons and a strong communication network? Veerappan is just an indicator of how limited we are. Are we so helpless? On what does our government spend money on? Unless we get rid Verappans in our government, tackling above problems is next to impossible.

Your Views:I have been following Veerappan (not literally) for a while now and a few things are obvious. 1. Some villagers are afraid of Veerpappan while others symphathize with him. The STF has violated human rights in many of these villages adding to the second category. 2. He has powerful friends in politics and in other militant groups, including the LTTE. Politicians like Veerappan because he has some people support for caste reasons. 3. Veerappan is a very shrewd guy. To catch him there needs to be a concerted but secret effort. I recommend a crack team of 20 commandos working incognito in the Satyamangalam forest. But without logistics support from TN and Karnataka they will not succeed. Also I think attempts to capture him will be too risky. Ideally a sniper should take care of him.

These 15 years of operation on him has costed the tax payer 34 crores of Rupees. I strong urge that some military action be taken to capture the criminal. It is of no use giving lame excuses that Veerapan knows the forest much better than Police. No talks - No middle men - Only action wanted. The first thing that was discussed among the politicians as soon as the news about Mr. Nagappa's abduction were peace talks. Why do they want to beg him? All these suggest that the politicians are still always politicians. Let us hope, that Veerapan is brought before laws.

Your Views:I think Veerappan is a lot better than other politicians we have. There are not many politicians who are not corrupt, so decoity does not matter and there are also politicians with criminal record so killings do not matter. Veerappan is doing things which people like. I think the Karnataka Government has to agree to Veerappan's demands. He is an under ground popular leader.

India would have been a superpower even if 1% of Indians were as dedicated and smart in their respective professions. He is at par with APJA Kalaam as far as smartness is concerned. He could have trained the Indian Police Force. At least make him an IPS officer and In-Charge of Training.

Your Views: First we should analyis a jungleman The veeraapan why he is so much interested about political disputes ? Secondly being a illeterate and insensitive charecter what made him to think about gelogical, political and linguistic problems ? Personally I think Veeraapaan is just a petty-criminal supported by some strong political lobby that is why till date he is free. The central govt. should try to find out who are these dirty politician behind the curtain...if we remember last time during Mr.Rajkumar's abduction Veerapaan was talking about international court at hague & cauvery river ...and now he is talking about introduction of Tamil language in Karnataka schools...what veerapan will get out of this ? There should be a serious C.B.I & court enquiry to catch the true criminals those who are instigating and using veeraapan to accomplish their fund collection and political targets. Those who are behind the curtain should be exposed and hanged publically.

Your Views:As we did Rajkumar matter, the life of sri H.Nagappa is more essential. we have to, at any cost , save him.For this purpose we have to ask Sri Ramadoss,Dr.Ayya , who is a vanniar and Veerappan also, it is reported somewhere, is a vanniar based community, to secure the release of H.Nagappa. This has to be done without any prior condition from Ramadoss. Then , after obtaining permission from both the state governments, we have to send an army to scan the entire forest area and find out the whereabouts of him. Initially, if we are not securing the release of Sri H.Nagappa, then millions of lives of Tamilians living in Karnataka and kannada speaking people living elsewhere will be in danger. But the army has to ultimately succeed. Proper announcement in the media should be given that if at a later stage any person found supporting the sandalwood thief he will be put behind the bars.

If the karnatake government behaves in a right manner on cauvery water issue, then i think there wont be such problems happen from veerappan in future. "Help others and save yourself" The karnataka government should feel that the tamilians are too indians. Nothing goes wrong on helping others.

This raises questions about the effectiveness of our law and order. Why wasn't there any operation going on to nab him after the release of Rajkumar or even before that. Why don't they just launch some air operations and bomb the s**** out of his places. Isn't there any intelligent intelligence agency in India? What are they doing? They should probably release those terrorists with transmitters in their bodies and then track that smuggler. Get him out dead or alive, preferring the latter and make him speak why he has so much political protection.

This should not be fullfilled at any cost even if it may result in death of the hostage. Media should not give attention so that fuelling of public emotions will be reduced. No politician should be allowed to interfere and anyone who is provking public should be booked under POTA. Veerappan, would get frustated with this approach as his kidnapping has not resulted in any response. This would lead to a another heroic which sure will result in his capture.

Your Views:Veerapan Menace is exceedingly hampering the lives of both the state of Karnataka and Tamilnadu. Both govt,Ignored the importance of nabing him. They are acted upon by Veerapan kidnapa drama uregency. With lot of pressure they try to solve this problem. Goverment should be proactive enough to nab him and set the action plan before venturing. Govt, require the advice of private professionals who can really plan and nab him, rather than the baised STF. As Jayalalitha's statements really not uttered with responsibility, Central Govt should interfere and save Nagappa. Or by providing amnesty to Brigand govt can find the powerful loby behing him and don't loose anything, if they are planning for cleanning the politics once for and all.
