'Myanmarese army has taken away two Indians'

Villagers of Vaphai on the Mizoram-Myanmar border alleged two persons, including a local teacher, were taken away by the Myanmarese army on June two and kept in captivity since then, police said in Aizawl on Sunday.

Superintendent of Police K Amon told PTI by phone the villagers reported the incident to Champhai district Deputy Commissioner K Riachho on Saturday.

Amon said the villagers reported the Myanmarese army forcibly took 25 cattle from Saikungphai area near the village and two villagers - Tlangsiama, a primary school teacher, and Lalswma, who went to take back the cattle - were arrested by the Myanmarese army.

The villagers also said the Myanmarese army entered the village on May 19 and fired in the air creating terror among the villagers, Amon added.
