US freeze on assets will not have any effect: Lashkar

A defiant Lashkar-e-Tayiba, blamed for its involvement in the terrorist attack on Indian Parliament, on Friday said the freeze on assets imposed by the United States would not affect it, and vowed to carry on its campaign in Jammu and Kashmir.

Reacting to the US ban, LeT spokesman Yahya Mujahid said it would have no impact on the outfit as it has no assets in Europe or America.

He said, "The US decision is very unfortunate and it is not based on correct information and the decision is misguided by India."

Addressing a Friday congregation in Islamabad, LeT chief Hafiz Mohammad Saeed cautioned Pakistan government against repeating its decision to 'cooperate with international community' as in the case of Afghanistan.

Denying Lashkar's involvement in the December 13 attack on Indian Parliament, Mujahid said LeT had owned the attacks whenever they were carried out by it and cited in this context the storming of the Red Fort in Delhi last year.
