ASI killed in Parliament attack cremated

The body of Delhi Police assistant sub-inspector Nanak Chand, who was killed in Thursday's terrorist attack on Parliament, was cremated with full state honour at his native village Ratdhanna, about five kilometres from Sonipat (Haryana).

The wooden casket carrying the body of Nanak Chand, accompanied by the slain soldier's mother arrived in Ratdhanna from Delhi late on Friday evening.

Haryana Director General of Police M S Malik attended the cremation and promised all assistance to the members of the bereaved family on behalf of the state police and the state government.

Earlier in Delhi, Vice President Krishan Kant was the first to place a wreath on the body of Nanak Chand.
