Militants kill 8, injure 30 in Jammu station

Militants opened indiscriminate fire on Tuesday night at passengers de-boarding the Ahmedabad-Jammu Tawi Express at Jammu station, killing eight and injuring 30.

Police sources said one militant, identified as Nisar Ahmed, was killed when the security forces stationed in the platform returned fire.

The sources said three militants had perched themselves on the overhead bridge at the railway station and started firing indiscriminately when the passengers started getting down.

They also added that the militants' targeted the army coach in the train.

Senior police officials have rushed to the spot.
