Parliament to adjourn sine die on Friday

Tara Shankar Sahay in New Delhi

Parliament will be adjourned sine die on Friday, Lok Sabha speaker GMC Balayogi announced in the House on Thursday.

The speaker told the House that it has been decided in the all-party meeting on Wednesday that Parliament should be adjourned sine die on April 27.

He said the meeting also decided that the time loss over the agitation on the tehelka issue could be made up by having a longer monsoon session of Parliament.

RJD member Raghuvansh Prasad Singh however protested that the all-party meeting had discussed having a five-day session from May 14 till 18 after Parliament adjourned on April 27.

The speaker, however, overruled Singh's protest, saying that the all-party meeting was unanimous on the sine die adjournment of Parliament on April 27.
