Venkataswamy Commission
issues notice to Tehelka

The Venkataswamy Commission, probing the Tehelka expose, has issued a notice to the portal asking it to submit unedited footage of its investigation into fictitious defence deals.

The commission has asked the portal to submit within 10 days footage along with other relevant documents, which it feels, could sustantiate its claim that there was corruption in defence deals, sources said.

Portal managing-editor Tarun Tejpal confirmed that he was in receipt of the notice. "We will cooperate in every possible way we can," Tejpal said.

On whether the portal was submiting any other material, he said, "It is only footage at present".
