Murgai seeks more time
to appear before CoI

Former additional director general (Quality Assurance) Maj Gen (retd) S P Murgai, a key figure in the Tehelka defence expose is reported to have surfaced and is seeking time to appear before the army's Court of Inquiry into the expose.

Gen Murgai, who according to Tehelka was paid a sum of Rs 140,000 for arranging meeting with top army weapons procurement officials and politicians, had gone underground the day the expose was made public.

The sources said the CoI had been given to understand that Murgai has resurfaced in New Delhi and is seeking more time to appear before the CoI.
