Wife of one hijacker arrested in BombayM Charubala in Bombay The Bombay police achieved a significant breakthrough in the Indian Airlines Flight IC-814 hijack case after they arrested Ayesha Yusuf Khan, wife of Yusuf Nepali, one of the hijackers. Ayesha was arrested in Borivali in connection with the bank robbery that first got five Inter-Services Intelligence operatives into trouble with the law. She was arrested after police got vital documents from the three travel agents who had got passports made for the ISI men. The ISI agents were arrested from a flat in Jogeshwari, a north-western suburb of Bombay, and hand-grenades, rocket-launchers and other sophisticated weapons were recovered from them. The police are also trying to solve the mystery of how these agents got their passports made in Bombay. Yesterday sleuths of the Central Bureau of Investigation went to the regional passport office and quizzed officers there in this connection. It is suspected that the ISI men got their passports made after obtaining driving licences through private motor training schools in Andheri and Tardeo. Highly placed sources in the crime branch of the Bombay police said they are expecting to arrest more people in this connection after this breakthrough. Ayesha was produced in court and remanded to police custody for 14 days. RELATED REPORT: Do a khancha and get a passport THE COMPLETE COVERAGE: Nightmare on Flight IC-814 |
