Infy, Sify register 26 per cent growth

Infosys Techologies' American Depository Share shot up by $141.56 to $670.06 at the end of Friday's trading -- a whopping 26.79 per cent gain over the previous day's close.

Likewise Satyam Infoway's ADR registered a $20.06 increase to close at $95 -- a gain of 26.77 per cent over the previous day's close.

The NASDAQ composite index ended the day with a loss of 2.01 per cent at 4,395.45 points.

Both Infy and Sify have shown spectacular growth despite a fall in the NASDAQ composite index.

However, Infosys chairman N R Narayan Murthy said yesterday that there was no new corporate development to warrant such a jump in the price.
