India to help evolve consensus on CTBT: Jaswant

E-Mail this report to a friend

Despite the United States Senate's rejection of the ratification of the Comprehensive Test Ban Treaty, India will try to evolve a consensus on this controversial issue.

Talking to newspersons soon after assuming charge, External Affairs Minister Jaswant Singh said the government will continue its efforts to build the widest possible consensus on the CTBT.

Singh had earlier stated that consensus on the issue will be evolved after the general election.
